The CHARLOTTE COMMUNITY BAND will perform 3 concerts at the Performing Arts Center this season: October 5, December 16, and April 21. Each show is unique and themed for the season.  In October they will present “Palette”, a concert which explores the variety of colors that music can evoke.  Works by Sousa, Saint-Saëns, Nelhybel, and a special performance by The Misfit Jazz Band, and CCB principal hornist Alison McRae make this a concert for all ages and tastes. 

 

Performances begin at 7:00 pm.  Advance tickets are $8.00 for adults and $5.00 for seniors/students.  All tickets are $10.00 at the door on the day of the performance.  Seating is general admission.

 

The Eaton Area Senior Center brings their annual variety show to the Performing Arts Center on Sunday, October 8 at 3:00 pm. The MAPLE CITY VAUDEVILLE REVUE is sure to entertain audiences of all ages! 

 

Advance tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for children/students.  

Adult tickets are $15 at the door on the day of the performance. Advance tickets are also available at the Eaton Area Senior Center.

THE SECOND CITY improv troupe comes to the performing arts center on Sunday, October 15 at 7:00 pm.  This must-see show features the best sketches and songs from The Second City’s 55-year history made famous by superstars like Tina Fey, Stephen Colbert, Steve Carell, Gilda Radner, Bill Murray and more-- as well as their trademark improvisation. Come see where it all began during this special engagement. 

 

Tickets are $20.00 for adults, $15.00 for students, and $10.00 for CHS students with ID.  A group discount is available for orders of 8 or more tickets.

The Charlotte High School Drama Department will get SPOOKY this fall with its musical production, THE ADDAMS FAMILY!  With a cast, crew, and pit orchestra of over 70 students, it is a performance not to be missed!  The stage musical follows the story of Wednesday Addams, who is now an adult, and in love with a “normal” boy, Lucas Beineke.  She longs for “One Normal Night” where the families will meet and her engagement to Lucas is announced.  In true Addams fashion, there can be nothing “normal” about it, and mayhem ensues.

 

Performances are November 3 – 5. Thursday, Friday, & Saturday at 7:00 pm, and Sunday afternoon at 3:00 pm.   Advance tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for seniors, and $6 for children/students.  All tickets are $15 at the door on the day of the performance. Seating is reserved. 

 

On Saturday, December 9 at 7:00 pm, the WORLD CLASS CITY BAND takes the stage!  Under the direction of John Dale Smith, the World Class City Band performs big band music with strong horns, a driving rhythm section, and the desire to take you back to the “Era of Swing”. WCCB will be on a mission to move your souls with Blues Brothers music, Chicago tunes, Motown sounds, and pop classics from the fifties to today. In addition, the band features easy listening favorites and holiday tunes designed to appeal to all age groups and musical tastes.

 

Tickets are $18.00 for adults, $10.00 for seniors, and $8.00 for students.  A group discount is available for orders of 8 or more tickets.

Continuing the holiday season, a fun family show returns to the performing arts center!  MOOSELTOE: A NEW MOOSICAL takes the stage on Friday, December 15 at 7:00 pm.  Mooseltoe is the charming story about a Moose who wants to fly with Santa's reindeer. Mooseltoe sets out to find the great wise Mooseking for advice, and along the way meets a variety of characters, all of whom teach Mooseltoe valuable life lessons. Meanwhile, there is trouble at the North Pole. Will Mooseltoe be able to save Christmas?

Arts for Youth Onstage Experience presents THE GRUNCH.  Inspired by “The Grinch Who Stole Christmas”, The Grunch tells the story of Rudy Grunch, a grumpy 6th grader who always feels like an outsider. When the entire school gets excited about the annual school musical, he comes up with a perfect plan to ruin it for everyone; he’ll steal the sets, costumes and lights the night before it opens. But will the spirit of theatre prevail?

 

Performances are February 2 & 3 at 7:00 pm.

The spring brings curiosity… CURIOUS GEORGE, that is.  On Sunday, April 29 at 4:00, join the inquisitive, lovable little monkey Curious George, star of books, movies and the award winning PBS television show in this delightful new musical. A great first show for young, new theatre-goers!
