The Charlotte Performing Arts Center relies on a staff of volunteers in order to provide exceptional customer service throughout the year. This staff of volunteers is seen in the forefront as our House Managers, Ticket Takers, and Ushers. You don't need any previous experience - we will teach you everything you need to know from the jargon and terminology of the theatre, to operations of our systems, protocol for our emergency procedures, and how to provide exceptional customer service to our audience and our artists.
As a volunteer you get to see professional and local productions for free on events that you work - sometimes even from unique perspectives. And at times you get to interact with the artists themselves.
For those interested in becoming an Usher, Ticket Taker, or House Manager at the Charlotte Performing Arts Center, we are organizing two orientation sessions on either Tuesday, September 17th OR Wednesday, September 25th. NEW volunteers, including those who did not volunteer during the previous year, will have training on those days from 6:00 - 8:30. The last hour will be a combined session with returning volunteers. Training will take place at the Performing Arts Center. The end time is approximate, and could run a little longer each night. At the end of the session, you will have a chance to sign-up for shows you wish to work. Please contact Hollie Auten on or before September 17 at firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone at 517-541-5691 to RSVP for one of the training sessions.
